The Indian government preempted an Islamic State attack on Indian soil targeting both Indian and foreign nationals. The would be perpetrators - four Sri Lankan nationals - were apprehended by the Gujarat Police Anti-Terrorism Squad. To address Sri Lankan Muslim radicalisation that is apparent after the Gujarat arrests, Muslim leaders should take the threat seriously and address it by developing community engagement and rehabilitation programs. Otherwise, Sri Lanka is likely to suffer from another attack or Sri Lankans are likely to stage attacks overseas.
