His Excellency Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior & Foreign Affairs Committee, Federal National Council UAE was Chief Guest at the Annual Summit of the Global Peace Institute (GPI) on October 9, 2025.

To sustain peace in a global village, I called upon everyone to champion harmonious living. As GPI chairman, I call H.E. Dr Nuaimi a “Paragon of Peace”. Together with GPI Director Dr Dr. Aishath Rafiyya, we honoured him with the inaugural “Golden Sail Distinction Award”.

His address on promoting moderation, toleration and coexistence was the highlight of the Annual Summit that called for certification of the service industry. The chair of the Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, The World Muslim Communities Council and The International Center of Excellence for Countering Extremism and Violent Extremism – Hedayah, H. E. Dr. Nuaimi was the former Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University.

From the UAE, a model for harmonious living, H.E. Dr Nuaimi has spearhead a worldwide movement to promote global peace!

The Global Peace Institute (GPI) UK honoured His Excellency Ahmed Siyam Mohamed from the Maldives as a “Champion of harmony in the Maldives” at its Annual Summit held in UAE in October 2025.

A prominent philanthropist and entrepreneur in South Asia, H.E. Siyam promotes peace through the hospitality industry. Empowering livelihoods of the island communities, he has brought and continues to bring appreciable change in the Maldives. In recognition of his pioneering leadership, H.E. Siyam received the ‘Golden Sail of Distinction Award’ from Major General Dr Mohammad A. AlShamsi from the UAE. A legal luminary and a leader in law enforcement, Alshamsi was the head of the Police Academy in Dubai. As honorary Chairman of the GPI and together with the GPI leadership, Clifford Gere, and Dr Dr. Aishath Rafiyya MIoD, we congratulate H.E. Siyam.

A Member of the Maldivian Parliament (People’s Majlis), H.E. Siyam was elected with a vote above 85% in 2004 and has been re-elected for the sixth consecutive term from the Dhaalu Meedhoo Constituency. The Founder and President of the Maldives Development Alliance, H.E. Siyam is the Founder and Chairman of Sun Siyam Resorts, Chairman and Managing Director of Sun New as well as Sun Siyam TV.

The Global Peace Institute UK is an independent, non-profit think tank founded to advance peace education, leadership development, and cross-sector collaboration worldwide. Its initiatives have been hosted in partnership with governments and academic institutions across five continents.

With 85 awards, 200 distinguished guests, and delegates from 46+ nations, the event stood as a defining moment for peace-driven leadership in the 21st century.
